Sometime life gets pretty complicated. You might find yourself in unexpected places dealing with things beyond your control.
Bitterness. Anger. Frustration. It’s okay to have feelings. Right? I certainly went through all these and then some over the last 24 hours when our home was pretty much turned upside down.
At the end of the day, it’s just stuff. I still believe you need to advocate for yourself and others when their are clear signs of wrong doing. But then after the dust settles take a moment. Remember to breathe and look around at all you have to grateful for. Here’s mine:
1. Family – They worry because they care
2. Friends – a network of people who call, text and message saying “what can I do” “what do you need” and sending you resources to try and problem solve.
3. The ability to be able to go somewhere clean and safe.
4. Unconditional love. Having someone who holds my hand and let’s me know “this too shall pass”.
A few people asked me how I kept it so together and while I joked about medication the true source of strength comes from meditating. Take time to check in can really help you stay balanced when things get messy. Here’s my toolkit on my phone with a few apps I use to help stay centred.
Anyways, it’s been a long week and I’m going to take the rest of this evening off but I’ll be back Saturday with a weight watchers update (eeeeek).
TGIF!
