Hi everyone!
Happy belated groundhog day. Can you believe that in 2018 we still rely on a rodent to predict the weather?
Guess what? 6 more weeks of winter. Thank you #captainobvious
But seriously. In addition to being disappointed in this crummy weather, I’m a little disappointed in myself. I have gone a little longer than normal without blogging but I’m finally starting to get back into a routine. I recently started a new job so it’s taken a bit of time to establish some balance. Now that I’ve had some time to adjust to all of this change, I’m looking forward to getting back on track: with my workouts, with weight watchers and with the blog. My blog planner from Wonderlass arrived and honestly, it is the cutest thing ever (um, hi, Unicorns anyone?).
This planner is HUGE and has lots of space for organizing and planning your projects. While I enjoy technology for most things, I’m a bit of a proud dinosaur when it comes to jotting down ideas and goals. Please be sure to check out Allison and her products here.
Speaking of goals, the weight plateau continues. I haven’t reported in a while mainly because I’ve basically been going up and down the same two lbs since December. #Boring. I did find the topic of the meeting this week to be very helpful as it really emphasized the importance of changing your mind set. I’ve talked about this before but we can be our own worst enemy on this journey. It’s so important to take a moment and pause every now and then, especially when we feel like quitting. I felt that way a few times this month and then I looked at some before and after pictures.
I know I’m smiling in both photos but I can tell you for a fact, the girl on the right is a very different person, body, mind and soul then the girl on the left. After looking at these old photos, I felt empowered to go forward and make some positive changes to both exercise and food.
For exercise, starting Monday, I’m going to be working with a personal trainer who is going to help me make a plan for the next few weeks. We’ve already started to talk about a few short term goals and one of them is to start running on a treadmill. Eek! I will definitely report back to you.
As for food, it’s time to fully commit to the freestyle program. To help, Adam and I bought a new toy!
We caved!!! I have been reading about the Instant Pot for months from other weight watchers members and when we decided to get one. it was sold out EVERYWHERE!!! We went online and ordered it from Amazon. Adam and I have date night tonight but I am going to attempt to make a stew tomorrow. I have this fear of cooking (well, more like poisoning people…I have big shoes to fill, ok?) but I promised myself I was going to teach myself how to make some home cooked meals. Let’s be real. It’s better on the belly and the budget. I will share the pictures of my creations on my instagram so if you’re not following, go here
That’s all for now! My mother in law is in town so you know what that means! DATE NIGHT. Adam and I are heading out to the movies. I really want to see Fifty Shades Freed but it’s not going to happen (it’s not out yet, and Adam just refuses). Looks like it’s The Greatest Showman. Yay Singing Wolverine! Is their anything Hugh Jackman CAN’T do? I will let you know.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend. Please be sure to jump into the conversation. Maybe you have a great Instant Pot recipe? A review of the Greatest Showman? Are you stuck in a plateau? Comment below and we can discuss.
Until next time!
