Hey everyone!
I hope you are well. Man did this month fly by. So much has been happening that when I sat down this morning and saw my last post was from February 7, I couldn’t believe it!!!
I wasn’t planning on taking such a long break but life has a way of creeping up on you. Lots has been happening on this end but I’m back and can’t wait to share with you. Here are a few updates and discoveries:
- New job. The biggest change is that I am now working as a membership coordinator/coach at a gym where I get to empower women to become the best versions of themselves. I’m loving every moment but it has definitely been keeping me busy. I’m so excited to be joining a vibrant community of women who build each other up instead of tearing each other down as they pursue their own health and fitness journeys. While I’m not teaching in a typical or traditional classroom setting, I’m teaching women to love and take care of themselves. It is a safe and supportive environment with a culture that values work life balance and it’s everything I need right now. Pretty awesome really.
- I am working with a personal trainer. One of the perks of working out at a gym is having access to some really great resources. Enter Kelly. A force to be reckoned with, Kelly is completely kicking my ass. I know this sounds like it contradicts my original statement of women building each other up but hear me out. She is helping me work my way off the plateau I have been on since October while teaching me to continually challenge myself. Be sure to check her out here. She hasn’t made me cry.
- I’m learning to run. Again. In the spirit of challenging myself, I’m giving running another chance. I’m taking it slow but trying to be consistent and make sure I get in at least 3 runs a week. Last summer I attempted to learn to run at the Running Room. I promised myself to commit to it, but completely ended up ghosting the program. No disrespect to the running room, but the group I signed up for (Learning to Run) was with people who had DEFINITELY ran before. This time, however, I’m doing it on my own, on my terms and rules. Stay tuned!
So that it it for now. I hope you all had a great weekend and check back again this week for some new adventures from your favourite Urban Yenta!
