Happy Monday everyone!
I am writing this post Oscars and with a full hangover. A sugar hangover that is, but I’ll get to that in a moment.
First things first!
Some of you have been wondering where the Weight Watchers updates have been so here it is:
YES! Of course I’m still on weight watchers. Thank you so much for checking in and keeping me on my toes (you know who you are). I know it has been a while since I’ve done a detailed update but I’m happy to report I’ve still been weighing in and started going back to meetings. There were a few weeks where I missed but I’m also proud to share that this past week was the first weigh in I’ve had where I have smashed the plateau I’ve been on since October. Well, maybe not a smash but a nice “tap”. I’ve been going up and down the same two pounds and while I’m glad I’ve smashed (ahem…tapped through) I’m realizing as I get closer to my goal, this journey is only getting more challenging. Going forward, being consistent and attending meetings is going to be essential.
Oh meetings. How I have missed you so. As some of you are aware, I now work on Saturdays which means no more Saturday morning meeting. For me, Weight Watchers meetings are such an essential part of this journey. Some people prefer to do the program online which is great IF it works for you. I believe you lose more weight if you go to the meetings (I forget the exact statistic…feel free to jump in if you know) but I know that for me, it works. I need to be at the meetings because not only do I learn new things each week but I get to be in a room with people who know exactly what I’m going through. It’s a supportive community. Luckily, I found another group that works with my schedule, has a fantastic attendance and a leader, Sandy, who is basically #lifegoals (just as an aside, Sandy is getting ready to run her gazillionth marathon in Barcelona. I’m obviously exaggerating but if you want to seem some inspiring sh!t, check out her insta HERE). While I’m enjoying the new meeting, as I get closer to goal, this journey is only going to get more challenging. I know I will have to change things up and revisit choices as I start #countdowntogoal.
Speaking of choices, the Oscars were last night. If there were an Oscar for bad choices, I would definitely win it for this doozy:
Rather than show you the trailer of this horror movie, all I can tell you is that I woke up with a literal sugar hangover. I went from basically going sugar free to downing those EVIL Easter eggs. And I woke up with a massive headache, stomach ache and a nice side order of regret.
Not very inspiring or uplifting but I promised myself that I would be fully transparent and share all aspects of this journey. The good, the bad and the messy. Sure, its not perfect but how many of you can relate? Please feel free to share below. The truth will set you free, or so they say.
In any case, the good news is, that was yesterday and today is a new day. And while I do have regrets, there is no point in dwelling. Lived it, learned from it, and time to get ready for #countdowntogoal.
I hope everyone has a great week. I’m spending the rest of the day preparing content for the blog and some upcoming surprises (wheee). Please share with me how you are doing. Got questions? Comments? Want to talk Oscars? I always encourage conversation and I will always write back!
Until next time,
Jen
