It’s a brand new week and unfortunately, it looks like the weather in Toronto has no plans of improving.
Luckily, there are many great events going on in the city. Yesterday, my family and I checked out Family Sundays at the AGO and it was AMAZING! Here`s a look at our day.
The Space
We started our adventure in the Dr. Mariano Elia Hands-On Centre, a large space where children and families engaged in a number of different activities. At the centre was a table where children were making polka dot art inspired by Yayoi Kusama’s exhibition, Infinity Mirrors. Ethan enjoyed playing with the sensory blocks, reading with Daddy and of course playing with the other children.
What I loved most about Family Sunday at the AGO is the fact that the organizers truly took the time to create a child-honouring space. Children`s art and ideas were showcased all around the space and art pieces were displayed at a level where it could be seen by children of all ages.
I loved watching parents engage in play with their children. Although it was busy, this controlled chaos was not overly overly rambunctious. I thought Ethan would be too young to participate but I loved watching him run up to the other children, saying `hi`and enthusiastically running around the large space.
We had a fantastic time and can`t wait to go back!
Be sure to check out Family Sundays at the AGO. For more information and to check out the schedule click here.
What are some of your favourite family-friendly things to do in Toronto? I am always looking for new ideas so please share in the comments.
Until next time!
