Last week’s Weight Watchers meeting talked about gratitude and whenever I’m going through a hard time, I try and remember all the good things in my life. And with summer finally drawing to a close, I wanted to share with you a list of some of the things I am most grateful for.
Adam.
For as much as he loves being behind the scenes, I’m putting him at number one because he is my number one. This summer hasn’t been easy but he has stepped up, often taking on more than his share while I was working on healing. I am grateful to have him as my person in life.
Ethan.
My son and the light of my life and the sunshine in my day. This kid waves at airplanes and hugs animals. His kind heart and gentle way with others gives me constant hope and strength for brighter tomorrows.
My family.
The phone calls. The snaps. The texts. The gatherings. The ability to reach out, be together, be heard and be thought of. I’m grateful for this support both local and international.
Coffee.
The first cup of the day. And the second. And so on and so forth. The stronger the better and if it burns a hole through the coffee table it’s strong enough.
Makeup.
A little petty, perhaps, but for the days I don’t feel my best, everything is a little brighter with blush. And bronzer. And highlighter. Did I forget the primer?
Friends.
Old and new. The ones who have your back and the ones who cheer you on from the sidelines. Thank you for inspiring me to show up better for myself and for you.
Luna.
My cat’s unconditional love and unwavering loyalty (she’s literally on the desk in front of my keyboard as I type this sentence) is comforting. She has marked me a crazy cat-lady for life and I am embracing the title every day.
Blogging and social media.
I’m grateful to have an outlet where I can be me, speak my mind and reach others who have similar interests and ideas. It’s a world that is still very new but inspires me to be open, creative and authentic every day.
The gym.
I’m grateful to be able to go, exercise regularly and challenge myself to be the best version of myself possible.
Health care.
Still far-from perfect but after having a rough summer, I grateful for the resources that are available in my country.
So there you have it. Practicing gratitude has definitely helped me be more mindful of all the good in my life and gives me the strength to cope better with life’s unexpected surprises. What are you grateful for? How do you practice gratitude? Be sure to share with me in the comments below. I hope you all have a fabulous long weekend and will see you soon.
