Last weekend, I took my first ever “momcation” and visited my friend Sylvia in Montreal. Having a weekend away not only allowed me to recharge and reconnect with myself, but I was able to catch up on some much needed R &R!
Here’s a look at some of the highlights of my trip!
I unleashed my inner foodie.
In the last few years, even though I’ve changed my perspective about food and have developed healthier eating habits, I also recognize the importance of enjoying yourself. Every once in a while, it’s fun to explore different restaurants and Montreal is certainly a place where food truly is an art form!

A vegan lunch, the “Truffe & Caviar” at LOV Restaurant.

The obligatory smoked sandwich from Schwartz’s deli.

The Duck breast, grilled scallions, chard and bigarade sauce at Garde Manger.

Late night poutine at Mad Hatter pub.

Fresh croissant at Maison Christian Faure.
A facial for all seasons.

Annie Young Boutique and Spa.
Because no girls weekend would be complete without a trip to the spa, Sylvia booked us in for some beauty time at Annie Young, a local family-run spa that’s located in Westmount. I was very excited to learn that they used Skinceuticals, a product line I have had my eye on for some time and really enjoyed the classic facial.

Treatment room.

Getting my glow on.
I explored the genius of Thierry Mugler.
Attending the Thierry Mugler exhibit at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art was definitely the highlight of my trip. This impressive exhibition contained over 150 pieces of haute couture and ready-to-wear garments that were created between 1973 and 2001. Here are a few of my favourites.
So do yourself a favour.
Drop the mom guilt. Do something for yourself. It doesn’t have to be big, long fancy or expensive. But take some time for you. I’m sure glad I did.
Hope you guys are having an awesome week
xo
