Hey everyone!
This has been a roller coaster of a week. As my Weight Watchers leader Rose asked this morning: “What have you done for yourself?” Well I’ll tell you what I did:
I got myself up and out to the meeting this morning.
If you recall, last week I pressed that snooze button, hid under the covers AND enjoyed some me time. Sometimes you need to have those days. While everyone in our household is a little under the weather, I’m so glad I went today. Weight Watchers meetings provide structure support and accountability. Which leads me to this:

How did this even happen?
I lost 2.5lbs.
I have been at a plateau for some time and it has been super frustrating. This was the exact motivation I needed to get back on track and work the plan.
Speaking of which, today we talked about the Weight Watchers mobile app and how it is a valuable tool for your journey. For me, I love the app. It is literally support in your pocket that can be accessed 24/7. Here are some of my favourite things about it:
- The tracker. As you can see I’m already over my points for the day. Boo-urns. But you know? It makes me aware and mindful of my food choices at each and every meal. It also encourages me to eat more zero point foods which are really good for you (you know, fruit veggies, lean proteins).
2. The Connect feature. It’s basically Instagram for Canadian Weight Watchers members. Its a fun way to share your journey, ask questions and get tips from people who are actually doing the program. It’s another great way to widen your support system.
3. Recipe Ideas. I love this feature because it takes the guess work out of building your recipes from scratch. It’s already hard enough to meal plan (I’m a work in progress). It’s a perfect way to get inspired and find some new flavours to share with your family.
4. The personalized messages. Who doesn’t want happy fruit and vegetables cheering you on? When you track your weight each week, you will get a message providing encouragement and suggestions for the week. I know it might seem a little silly but think of it like a nice little virtual hug. I know. I know. I know. I’m a special snowflake – but I’ll take a hug any day.
5. 24/7 support. THIS. Out at a restaurant and don’t know what to eat? Feeling confused about the program? Need some extra support at night when the fridge is beckoning? The 24/7 feature puts you in touch with an actual Weight Watchers leader who will help you with the program. This journey can sometimes be lonely (especially if you are doing it online). It’s a special feature that really shows that Weight Watchers wants you to be successful on the program.
So that’s all for now. Thank you so much for checking in. And just as a reminder I am not being paid by Weight Watchers Canada or Weight Watchers International Inc. to talk about the program. This is something I need to write about to help me stay accountable. Before making any changes to your diet, always consult your physician. Please also feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions.
Hope you guys have a great weekend!
